ASML Experience Center Sept. 7th

October 7 @ 10:0012:00

ASML is the biggest company in the Netherlands and an innovation leader in the semiconductor industry. They provide chipmakers with the hardware, software and services they need to mass produce microchips. They design and manufacture the lithography machines that are an essential part of chip manufacturing.

Mimir has been in contact with Jeroen van de Wijdeven, who finished his MSc and PhD in the control systems technology group of Maarten Steinbuch at the TU/e. For the last 17.5 years he has been working at ASML in different D&E and research projects, focusing mostly on mechatronics related challenges. He has invited us to the ASML experience center, where we will get to experience the world of ASML. We will get to see their technology up close, including real hardware and full-size 3D machine projections. The tour explains how their systems support chip manufacturing and offers an inside look at key technologies. Their aim is to have an informal tour with plenty of opportunity for questions.

Important:
– There is a maximum registration of 20 people per excursion day (Mimir members have priority).
– A passport or ID is required to be allowed into the experience center.

Due to the limited amount of spots per excursion day, we will send you an email to confirm your spot. Since ASML requires the details of the people attending the excursion beforehand, the registration will close at least two weeks before the excursion.

Since the event does not take place on the TU/e campus, you can either join us and travel there with us by bus or find your own mode of transportation. It is STRONGLY advised to NOT come by car since, parking is a challenge even for the employees themselves and might result a 15 minute walk to the reception of building 7. If you decide to join us in traveling to ASML, we will meet at the bus side of the station at 9 AM.
